Halothane
- Advantages:
- Used for induction in children (sweet pleasant odor).
- Sensitize the myocardium to the arrhythmogenic effects of catecholamines.
- Blood pressure usually falls.
- Very soluble in blood and adipose tissue.
- Prolonged emergence.
- “Halothane hepatitis” (rare).
