An abscess between the tonsil capsule and the adjacent lateral pharyngeal wall common deep infection in late childhood
SSX:
low grade fever sever sore throat ,muffled voice ,drooling, trismus
- fever
- otalgeia
- odynophagia
- uvular deviation
- trismus
- drooling of saliva
Complication:
- Para and retrpharyngeal abscess,
- aspiration pneumonia
Diagnosis
- Clinical diagnosis
- CT scan
Treatment:
- aspiration
- Incsion and drainge
- later tonsillectomy
- IV ABX
