Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome

  • Presents in the first 3 months of life
  • Anasarca, hypoalbuminaemia, oliguria
  • {Finnish’ Type}
  • Antenatally detectable:
    • Raised AFP in maternal serum and amniotic fluid

Complications

  • Failure to thrive
  • Infections
  • Hypothyroidism
  • Renal Failure (2 – 3 yrs)
