Papillary Carcinoma

• Solitary firm nodule/ dominant nodule in MNG
• Slow growth, remains confined to thyroid & LN for years
• U/S- solid nodule Isotope scan- ‘cold nodule’
• Enlarged LAP in - 10%
• FNA diagnostic
• Thyroglobulin- marker for recurrence or metastasis
• Later stages- metastasis to lung
• May convert to undifferentiated type
