Strabismus Conditions

Types of Strabismus

  • Esotropia:
    • Characterized by an inward deviation of the eyes.
    • Illustrated in the first image (A) with the left eye turned inward.
    • Also shown in the third image (A) where both eyes are looking straight ahead but one eye is deviated inward when the other is covered.
  • Exotropia:
    • Characterized by an outward deviation of the eyes.
    • Illustrated in the second image (B) with the left eye turned outward.
    • Also shown in the fourth image (B) where the covered eye drifts outward when uncovered.
