Major subareolar ducts dilate and shorten with age. By the age of 70, 40% of women have dilated ducts When symptomatic- called “duct ectasia”

Presentation:

  • nipple discharge (yellow, green or brown)
  • nipple retraction (classically slit-like)
  • If discharge is troublesome- duct excision of affected duct
