Aztreonam is stable to most B-lactamases. It has a low potential to produce hypersensitivity reactions, even in patients with known B-lactam allergy. the drug can be administered via inhalation to patients with Cystic Fibrosis to prevent exacerbations of infection. and also used in severe infection

Used in Gram-negative infections, including Pseudomonas, particularly in patients with a history of beta lactam allergy. must be admitted to hospital for administration.
